Timothy Allen Hershberger, 40, of Lafayette, Indiana, passed away suddenly on October 27, 2024.
Tim was born on March 13, 1984 to Paul and Kathleen Hershberger, in Germany. Tim was a devoted father to his daughter, Riley, and cherished his time spent with her. This included coaching her soccer and basketball teams as well as watching her play softball. Tim enjoyed music, movies, cooking and most recently found excitement in thrifting. As an avid sports fan, he enjoyed watching IU sports, Colt’s football and Pacer’s basketball. He also enjoyed spending his time playing (and winning) poker, darts and sports bets. Tim also found joy in the company of his treasured dogs, Hank and Otis.
After Tim graduated from Traverse City High School in 2003, he followed in the footsteps of 4 generations, including his father and mother and joined the U.S. Army. As a dedicated Specialist he served with the 66 MP Company at Ft. Lewis, Washington and in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, in 2007-08. After being medically discharged in 2009, he earned a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice and a Master’s of Science Degree in Emergency Management. He changed his career path and became a Journeyman Electrician, with the IBEW 668.
Tim is survived by his daughter, Riley Marie (with former wife Deanna Hershberger); parents; brother, Paul James Hershberger (partner Yumin); and sister, Krystle Michelle Hershberger.
Tim’s quick-witted jokes, comical sense of humor and thoughtfulness will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
