Mary J. (Carroll) Land

Mary J. Land, 72, of Lafayette, died at home February 28, 2024 peacefully with her family by her side. She was born March 22, 1951 in Carrollton, ILL to Glen Carroll and Jeane Gombas.  Mary was married to Millage T. Land, Jr. in Lafayette where they lived for over 30 years and were together since 1966 until his death in 1996.

Mary was a retiree of Lafayette Venetian Blind and she enjoyed her grand babies, great-grand babies, gardening, fishing, lights and other yard decor, mushroom hunting, auctions, yard sales, bingo and music.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband and parents, brothers, Charles “Sparky” Cotner, Richard “Ricky” Cotner, sister, Shirley Cotner and granddaughter, Melissa S. Thomas.

She leaves behind brother, Carl Cotner of Gary, IN, daughter, Ginger Land Prater of Lafayette, IN, son,  Thomas J. Land, Sr. of Lafayette, IN, grandchildren, Joshua Thomas, Thomas Land, Jr. and Jonathan Thomas, great-grandchildren, Cory Thomas, Haley Thomas, Anthony White, Jaime Thomas, Baylee Thomas, Bentley White, Casey Thomas, Hayden Land, Wyatt Land, Rylan Land, Arianna Land, Ella and Hope.

A memorial visitation will be held from 12:30-3pm (EST)  March 24, 2024 at Rush Pavilion at Columbia Park, 1915 Scott St., Lafayette, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Flowers can be sent to 2408 Euclid Ave.  Lafayette, Indiana 47909.
