Lola Joyce Gonzales

Lola Joyce Gonzales, 80, of Fowler, passed October 7, 2024. She was born the daughter of Karl and Evelyn Ramstad of Superior, Wisconsin January 21, 1944. She spent her childhood and teenage years there and graduated from the Superior East High School in 1962. She went on to work in bookkeeping and accounting for several Automobile firms and for many years.

She married Jesse Gonzales July 10, 1970 and went to Japan for a 4 year honeymoon. While there she taught English to several companies of Japanese employees, one of which included Nabisco. The students involved us in many different cultural activities which included many trips throughout Japan. One involved traveling on the Romance Train, then a bus, to a cable way which ended up in a wonderful hotel including a Geisha Party. Lola had extensive travels due to Jesse’s Air Force Career. She traveled to Spain, Germany, Italy, England and France. She Volksmarched all over Germany.

Her greatest gift was cooking. She viewed it as a labor of love. Holidays were the upmost of perfection down to the last roll on the platter.

She always put other’s feelings before her own.

She is survived by her husband, Jesse Gonzales, sons, Gregory Wayne, and Rodney Eric, four grandchildren and four step-grandchildren that she dearly loved.
