Joseph A Miller, 77, passed away peacefully at White Oak Health Campus in Monticello, IN. Sunday, January 7, 2023.
Joseph was born November 3, 1946, in Lafayette to the late Ralph and Jean (Lawler) Miller Head.
He married the love of his life, Donna Sue, October 8, 1965 in Indianapolis. Joseph served in the US Army during the Vietnam war stationed in Germany. Then returning home to start a family and work for Monon Railroad as a train conductor for years. He had a love for all things involving fishing, camping, boating and being on a river or lake with family. He was a creative thinker with a passion for inventing that included obtaining patents for fishing devices. He loved to cook for his family and friends and often hosted big family fries. He was an avid horseshoe player for many years. Joe enjoyed painting and sketching and attended Heron School of Arts, upon completion of High School at Ben Davis. He was a big fan of Purdue Basketball, especially during coach Gene Keady’s era.
Joseph is survived by wife Donna, brother, Ralph E. (Patsy) Miller of Lafayette, sister, Patricia A. (George) Brouwer, Delphi, step-sister, Barbara Head, step-brother, Joseph M. Head, son, Joseph S. Miller, daughter, Teresa J. (Steve) Harris, Daughter, grandchildren: Tyler (Khayla) Miller, Kensey (fiancé Sean) Miller, Naomi M. Harris, Hailey (Jared) Crowell, Grant Harris and 5 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Marion, sister, Pamela A. (Larry) Myers and Janeen M. Head, step-brothers, Charles Head and Frances Head and brother, Timmy Miller
The will have a private celebration at a later date.
