Howard Lee Carter

Howard Lee Carter, 87, of DeMotte, passed away October 8, 2024. Howard drove Semi for Morocco Sand and Gravel and Hopkins trucking until he retired at the ripe old age of 76. He enjoyed fishing and being with his grandchildren. He loved to play his guitar that his uncle made for him. Shep was the song I think he sang the most because it made his kids cry.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Freda Carter, sisters, Barbara Bowling, Betty Sist and Donna Carter, brother-in-law, Tony Sist, brothers, Kenneth and Charles and Chester Carter, sisters-in-law, Jackie and Delores Carter and son, Orville Carter.

 He is survived by, brother Hank Carter of Tennessee, sister Lois Carter of California, children, Timothy Carter (Debbie) of Rensselaer, Michael Carter of DeMotte, Mary Northcutt of Chalmers and Richard Carter of Brook, 22 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren.

 He will be greatly missed. God bless and fly high!

A celebration of life will be held at 419 E. Merritt St., Rensselaer, IN  47978 on November 10, 20024 from 2-6pm (CST).
